Our Commitment to Sustainability

Emission reduction, focus on renewable energies and more efficient consumption. These are just some of the points in our Sustainability Document, in line with the United Nations Global Compact and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development to which the company has joined.

our Home

The Fara San Martino production unit, the headquarters of the De Cecco Group, is located in the UNESCO World Heritage Majella Geopark, at the foot of the imposing massif, a magnificent setting that has always been the backdrop of the company and accompanies the historic De Cecco brand around the world.

Renewable Sources

Renewable Sources

Over 50% of the electricity used by the two De Cecco production units comes from renewable sources.
Some of it is hydroelectric, self-generated by the proprietary hydroelectric power stations, started in 1905 by the De Cecco Founder, then passed on to his heirs who have kept them active, modernized and handed them over to the contemporaneity.

Reducing emissions

Reducing emissions

De Cecco does not employ facilities or carry out activities that generate significant atmospheric emissions.
However, while not required by law, a sustainability-oriented approach has been taken that goes beyond current regulations.
In fact, our emissions are less than 10% of the legal limits.

The importance of water

The importance of water

Water consumption has decreased due to the efficiency and monitoring practices put in place.
Between the year 2021 and 2022, the percentage of water resource savings was 15%.

A historical supply chain

A historical supply chain

Also great is De Cecco’s commitment to Italy’s high-quality Italian durum wheat supply chain, which by 2022 involves more than 1,300 farms, over 15,000 hectares of cultivated land, 8 varieties of grains and is worth more than 35,000 tons of harvest.

Sustainability and solidarity

Sustainability and solidarity

Sustainability at De Cecco also combines with solidarity through partnerships that have been established for decades, such as the one with the Banco Alimentare to which 2,100 quintals of products were donated in 2022 to help so many needy families and, at the same time, fight food waste, preventing good food from being wasted.
