Introduction to CSR

“Whether it be businesses, individuals, families or nations, prosperity is preserved with durability; it develops and is passed on to others, rather than defending it against others.” Through these words, the founder, Filippo Giovanni De Cecco, launched the Group’s philosophy that lies in the search for a constant balance between business and social growth. These have been, and remain, the pillars of our competitive strength. This policy has enabled us to become, and we intend to remain, protagonists on the market and a driving force in the social fabric. The President, Filippo Antonio De Cecco, in his preface to the book “Sustainable growth in mature markets” recalls, among other things, that the ethics and sustainability of De Cecco coincide with its history, with the entrepreneurial style and a way of doing business; a tradition of excellence in quality and way of life. This is what De Cecco has always brought to the market.
Growth can be virtuous if it creates lasting wealth not only for the company and shareholders, but also for its employees and surrounding territory. Sustainable growth finds its core in the attention given to the quality of the product, which we transmit to all those who come into contact with our reality, so as to try to transform its quality into the quality of the “system”. Three ingredients are needed in order to create the quality of the “system”: respect, passion and skills. Respect for people and rules, the tireless passion in transmitting our values to employees, customers and consumers, and finally the growth of competencies. Respect, passion and skills have made it possible to transform the quality of the product into the quality of the company-system and these values allow us to communicate an ethical vision of the company. But this isn’t enough. We want our ethical vision to become common heritage, sharing it with all those who come into contact with us and who want to help our historical company grow, along with the reality that surrounds us.
