Social responsibility

Total transparency and quality: our commitment to ethics and social responsibility starts here and is shared with anyone who comes into contact with us.

Introduction to CSR

“Prosperity for both businesses and individuals, families and countries lasts over time, and it is developed and extended to others, rather than being kept from them”. With these words, our founder Filippo Giovanni De Cecco marked the beginning of the Group’s philosophy which is focused on the quest for a constant balance between business and social growth. These were and still are the mainstay of our competitive strength. With this policy we have become, and we intend to remain, market leaders and a driving force in the social fabric. The President, Filippo Antonio De Cecco, in his preface to the book “Sustainable growth in mature markets” recalls, among other things, that the ethics and sustainability of De Cecco are in line with its history, with its style of entrepreneurship and way of doing business, a tradition of excellence in quality and way of life. This is what De Cecco has always brought to the market.
Growth is virtuous if it creates lasting wealth not only for the company and for the shareholders, but also for the employees and for the area in which it is located. The heart of sustainable growth lies in the care taken over the quality of the product, which we convey to all those who are involved in our business, in an attempt to transform the quality of the product into the quality of the “system”. Three ingredients are needed to create the quality of the system: respect, passion and expertise. The respect for individuals and rules, the unwavering passion in conveying our values to our employees, customers and consumers, and lastly, the development of expertise. Respect, passion and expertise have helped to transform the quality of the product into the quality of the system-company and allow us to communicate an ethical vision of the company. But this is not enough. We want our ethical vision to become a shared heritage, to be participated in by all those who come into contact with us and want to help us grow our historical company together with the world that surrounds us.

ISO 26000

ISO 26000 identifies the fundamental themes of Social Responsibility and provides a transversal reading key, combining the Organization's practices with the principles recognized by customers, consumers, public administrations and other stakeholders. De Cecco has adopted this approach in line with its characteristics of entrepreneurial reality with international dimension, around which the interests of many stakeholders revolve. An independent third party carried out an assessment of the degree of maturity of the organization with respect to the fundamental themes of the Guideline. The scope of the activity covered the Seven Pillars of the ISO 26000 Guidelines: Governance, Human rights, Relations and working conditions, Environment, Good management practices, Specific aspects relative to users / consumers, Community involvement and development. In addition, as part of the activity, an analysis of the positioning of the Organization with respect to the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) was carried out and revealed the positive contribution of De Cecco in pursuing all the objectives of the United Nations 2030 Agenda.
